This weekend, I am hosing a Labor Day retreat in the Rocky Mountains and, when I saw the September stamp set, I knew that it would be ideal for creating some gift bags to treat the ladies who are attending. After all, who wouldn’t want a beautiful monogram stamp with some coveted hand-sanitizer at their weekend crop??

The bag was a Hobby Lobby purchase that I stamped using Sapphire and Espresso Ink then splattered with a Toffee Shimmer Brush.  It was a bit difficult to stamp onto this bag and a few of the images appear uneven and faded, so the addition of some random arrows and splatter added to the worn look of the design.

Since this is a fall retreat, I chose to add a few leaves that were cut using our Leaves Thin Cuts dies. These new dies are so much bigger that I thought they would be and they are essential for your upcoming fall projects. I can’t wait to create with them again.

I cut out each one of the leaves from White Daisy cardstock then shaded the each one by blending some red, yellow, green, and orange Distress Oxide inks. These inks are a new product I have never used before and I am HOOKED.  Unfortunately, we are out of stock on the website and hope to have a few in the warehouse soon.

After creating the leaves, I designed a tag with a heat embossed sentiment on a Sapphire cardstock circle. The phrase was stamped onto the circle using VersaMark Ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, then heat set with a heat tool.

To embellish the gift bag, I added some burlap ribbon from my stash, a little jute twine and a wooden button.  I think that this bag is simply adorable and I hope that the ladies at my retreat do also.

I had so much fun making these! I hope they inspired you to create a few gifts for your friends during National Stamping Month. Now ‘Hop” on over to the talented Katy Taylor’s Blog to see her work!
