A Sunny Smiles Card Made for H2H

I cannot believe that today is the last day of August and the final day to enter our August Heart2Heart challenges. The month just flew by!! This week, we are starting off with a September challenge where Anything Goes (one of my favorites). I hope that you plan to join us.

For today’s project, I decided to pull out the August Stamp of the Month one last time to create Summer Smiles card.  I chose an uncomplicated design using a single color mixed with black and white for a bright summery feel.

All of the images and sentiments on this card came from our Floral Celebrations stamp set.  When I first saw this set of stamps, I honestly wasn’t sure if I would use it, but I am loving all the bold floral designs, leaves, and little swirls.

Unfortunately, today is the last day that you can order this stamp set from my website.  It was designed exclusively for August and will no longer be available after August 31st.

To create the background on this card, I stamped one of the flower images and some leaf images onto black cardstock using VersaMark InkThis ink is specifically designed to adhere to embossing powders. You will want to make sure you have prepped your cardstock with an Anti-Static Pouch before stamping the images.

The pouch prevents the embossing powder from sticking where you don’t want it to stick. You only want the White Embossing Powder on the stamped images. If needed, you can use a fine paint brush to carefully remove any excess powder before setting the powder with a heat tool

The larger flowers were stamped onto White Daisy cardstock with Canary ink then cut out and placed onto the background with foam tape.  The smaller flowers were heat embossed with white powder onto Canary cardstock and layered onto the card.

Those yellow dots were taken from my stash. It has been a goal of mine to start using up some of the items in my craft space. If you don’t have yellow enamel dots, you can use a white enamel dot and shade it with a yellow alcohol marker

I hope today’s project inspired you to create something new and join our Anything Goes Heart2Heart challenge. Make sure to stop by the Heart2Heart blog and check out all the other creations from our design team.
