Creating with Cricut & Creativity in Motion

As many of you know, I was blessed with a box of sneak peek products from Close to My Heart and, until now, I could not tell you what those were.  You can’t image how hard it is to have some wonderful crafty goodness sitting in your craft space that you are not allowed to share with anyone. When the boxes arrived, I was tasked to create some projects to share and inspire others and TODAY, I get to finally share my tutorials with you.

Slimline cards seem to be all the rage right now, so I decided to create my very first one using my Cricut and the NEW Creativity in Motion animation products.  Originally, our Creativity in Motion special was not supposed to be released until September 1st, but Close to My Heart wanted you to be able to get a hold of these products earlier so that you can join us for the free online class in on National Stamping Day.

In the Creativity in Motion bundle you will receive the supplies and instructions you need to make those adorable cards shown on my website.  I chose to use all the items in my bundle to create something a little different.  This Animated Butterfly slimline card was designed using the papers and stamps in the bundle along with a few images I cut using my Cricut Maker

After cutting out the lattice and flowers, I designed a way for the animated butterfly to peer through a porthole. The butterfly image is one of the many animated stamps you can purchase in this collection.  Right now, you can only purchase the stamp set in the bundle, but, on September 1st, you will be able to purchase it separately; however, getting the bundle at a discount is always a great bonus.

For those of you who are wondering what an animated card is, it is an optical illusion card.  The stamped images are designed to work with the striped acetate sheets creating the illusion of movement when you shift the image.

As you can see, when the tab is pulled, the butterflies wings move.  How awesome it that?! It looks like that butterfly is fluttering through a garden of flowers.

In my video tutorial below, I walk you through the Design Space process to create this card front and I show you some tips and tricks for using these new Creativity in Motion stamps and animation sheets.

Please take a few minutes to subscribe to my channel so that you are notified when I add my next video tutorial.

In the coming weeks, I will be showcasing more of my Creativity in Motion projects. Make sure to subscribe to my blog, newsletter, or YouTube channel so that you do not miss out on these upcoming projects.

I was honored to be asked my Close to My Heart to create some of these projects for you.  I hope that you were inspired by today’s Animated Butterfly Slimline card and that you plan to create one of your own using the Creativity in Motion products.
