If you are like me, you probably have a random pile of paper scraps that are calling out to be used on a project. 
Scraps are something most paper crafters collect. We have plans to use them, but often forget we have them in our stash. This past month, I have been working my way through a bin of scraps, mixing and matching paper collections to create some fun little creations. Here is one I recently completed using quite a few scraps in my collection.
Most people might have chosen to use purples with these photos, but I wanted to focus on the people so I picked papers that would draw your eyes to the kids playing in the water.
When you take a look at the papers around the photos you will see a sun pattern paper to match the summer theme and some blue florals to match the boys’ swim trunks. I tied them together using some glacier cardstock and some summer vibes papers.
The stripes on that Summer Vibes paper is full of bright colors and I felt like it was the best way to tie all the summer colors together in these photos. Next to the striped paper is another scrap from that collection and it has a slight wave pattern – perfect for reflecting the water the kids were playing in.
Once the paper scraps were down onto the background and stitched into place, I decided to embellish the page with some leftover stickers and die cuts. When I think of using up “scraps”, I also think about all those little bits of ephemera that remain after completing other projects.
On this title, I used up some of those scraps, too. I added some remaining Summer Vibes stickers layered onto a cloud that I had leftover from my Happiest Place album project.
The cloud in the corner and the little blue tab also came from those Happiest Place “scraps”. Whenever I finish a project, I place the leftovers in an organizer by color. That tab was the perfect shade of blue to match this page. All I had to do was stamp the date using an alphabet stamp set.
I have a second page to go with this layout which I am still working to complete. I also used quite a few scraps on it, but I have a few more details to add before I post it here on my blog.
