A Minnie Inspired Card Cricut Tutorial

For the Color My Heart Color Dare

This week, at the Color My Heart Color Dare blog, our design team is creating with the color palette from the Happiest Place collection. This collection is full of bright playful patterns, foil cardstock, and all sorts of digital images – which I will be using today on my Minnie Inspired Birthday Card.  Along with today’s Color Dare inspiration, I have added a short Cricut Tutorial showing you how I created the card. Before I show you my project, let’s take a look at this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

You do not have to use the Happiest Place collection to create your project, but you do have to stick with the colors on the Tic-Tac-Toe board and link your project to the blog before August 6th.

I realized that it has been a while since I have created a Cricut tutorial for you, so I decided to make a simple design you could recreate.  This Minnie inspired birthday card is full of fun details like heat embossing, doodling, and some glittery text.

In the video tutorial, I walk you through how to create the mouse head image, how to upload your Happiest Place Digital Art designs, and how to assemble to card. You will even learn how I shaded to adorable wood button using a Lemonade Shimmer Brush.

The inside of the card has a sentiment written with a Glitter Gel Pen using my Cricut Maker. I chose to add another stamped image inside the card for a little color and to meet the design challenge.

All around this little card, I added some doodles.  If you follow me on Instagram, I occasionally post my doodles. Whenever life seems overwhelming or I just need to give the brain monsters a break, I grab a pencil and draw. Getting to add doodles to projects, like this, is such a joy for me.♥

This Minnie inspired card is so simple to make and can be replicated multiple times using your Cricut machine.  You will need to own the images from the Happiest place collection to make this card, but you will not regret purchasing them. There are so many fun images you can use on t-shirts, scrapbook pages, cards, and more.

These digital images are part of our July/August special so I am not sure how long you will be able to order them.  If you are wanting to make more theme park designs, you may want to grab them sooner than later.

I am sure that by now you are ready to see how I created this card in Design Space.♥  In the video description there is a list of each of the tutorials and a time code for you to click on.  If you have a few minutes, please subscribe to my channel and check out the other Cricut Tutorials I have for you.

I hope that you were inspired by today’s project and that you learned a new technique you wish to try. I always love hearing about people who are dusting off their Cricut machines and trying something new.

Don’t forget to add your creation to the Color Dare Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week.  Remember, you do not have to use the Happiest Place products, but you do need to use the color palette shown above and link your project to the blog before the challenge ends.
