When you are finished learning how I created my stenciled brick  background, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of ideas.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melissa’s Blog.

When the new May/June catalog arrived, I feel in love with the Make a Splash stamp set.  I couldn’t wait to create something with those adorable polka-dot boots, so I decided to create a card where those boots were the focal point in front of a brick wall background.

The background of the card was created using our Texture Paste mixed with a Toffee Shimmer Brush. I cut out a brick stencil design, using my Cricut, and applied the paste directly to the card.

Here are a Few Tips for Using Texture Paste

After my Texture Paste had cured, I stamped the sentiment onto the card using Candy Apple Pigment Ink, then heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment I used also comes from our Make a Splash stamp set.  Isn’t it the cutest set ever??

After stamping the boot image, I shaded them using our SpectrumNoir TriBlend Markers.  In my video tutorial below, I not only show you how to apply Texture Paste, but I also show you how I used the markers to create the shaded images you see here.

Once I was done with my coloring,  I added some whimsical polka-dots with White Embossing Powder, then layered them atop some flowers.

For those of you who would like to know more about how to use Texture Paste with Stencils and how to use our SpectrumNoir Tri Blend Markers, I have created a short video tutorial for you.

I hope today’s project inspired you use some of your Stencils and give Texture Paste a try.  Now ‘Hop” on over to Darlys Recker’s Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas for using Stencils on your projects.
