With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I decided that I would use up some of my scraps to make a simple stitched card.  The Time to Celebrate stamp set is chock full of sentiments and any one of them could be use on this design.

To create the background of the card, I dug through all my paper scraps and cut diamond shapes using the Aurora Scrapbooking Thin Cuts.  This is one of our newest stamp sets with matching metal dies which are perfect for creating backgrounds.

After I had created the background, I added a few lines of stitching with some light pink thread. I love the classic look of pink and blue together.

The sentiment was stamped onto Vellum using Sapphire Pigment Ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, heat set, and added to the card.  To frame the design, I added a Sapphire Blue Stitched frame.  The Time to Celebrate Stamp set has “build-able” sentiments to match your card. This one could say “Father” or “Mother” depending on who you are making it for.

For those of you who are members of my VIP Group, you will be able to get a peek at how I made this card tomorrow, during our National Scrapbooking Day celebration. I can’t wait to show you how simple it was to make.

Now ‘Hop” on over to Lauren Moore’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas. Remember, the Time to Celebrate stamp set is only available until May 31st.  Contact your CTMH Consultant, or visit the Promotions tab of my website to learn how you can get this stamp set for only $5.00.

  2. Gorgeous as always! Love the creative use of the die cut and how you dressed it up with the stitching. My sewing machine is going to get a workout with this new set!

  3. Do you mind me asking what you used to created the holes that you stitched in? This card is beautiful!
