Four Cards from One Cricut File

This month, I was honored to be asked by Jill Broadbent at Close to My Heart to re-imagine one of the designs in our new Everyday Moments Cricut collection.  The design assigned to me was the Heart of Gold card♥ which is a very simple, easy to create card found in this Cricut collection.  Instead of creating just one single, redesigned card, I chose to create four for you today, and I have a simple, video tutorial for you to follow so that you can create a few of your own.

Like I said, the Heart of Gold card in the Everyday Moments collection is a very simple one to create. When you look at the design in Cricut Design Space♥, you will see that each of those layers is a separate layer and the design includes a card base and envelope. 

As I was re-imagining this design, I choose to keep it simple so that you could easily recreate each card.  Each one has a very subtle change and has been cut from a variety of materials. As you watch the video tutorial, you will be able to see the changes I made to the design in Cricut Design Space and how to assemble each one of the cards. 

Let’s take a look at each re-imagined card I created compared to the original design.

The first card I created looks very similar to the original design, but it was created using watercolor paints on watercolor paper. 

After each painted piece was dry,  I added some stitching using matching thread. I love the texture the stitching added to this card and how it looks just like a little girl’s spring dress with all the ruffles. 
 
TIP: If you don’t have thread to match the color, you can use re-inkers to dye white thread.

The second card also kept the design intact, but was cut from French Vanilla cardstock and backed in Gold Foil paper.  (All the supplies for these cards can be found at the bottom of this post.) 

Again, I added some stitching and embellished this card with Gold Embellishing Thread and Gold Glitter Gems.  I like the elegance of this card♥ and how well it pairs the the vellum envelope.

The final card was flipped on it’s side – literally.  In my Design Space tutorial, I show you how to use the Contour Feature to remove the words and how to add some faux stitching lines with your Maker. 

After cutting the pieces from the These Are My People papers, I adhered them to the card base and added a whimsical White Ribbon bow and a few Acrylic Hearts as charms. The  sentiment was stamped in Intense Black ink using our Love these People stamp set.  I adore the simplicity of this one and how easy it came together.
