I never saw myself as a person who would enjoy “coloring”, but it is something I have become fond of especially when using our TriBlend Markers and Watercolors. For this month’s Technique Blog Hop, I chose to feature these two wonderful items on my Shaded Seashell card that I created for my husband.

I knew that I wanted to keep this card simple and easy to re-create, so I began designing a blue background on a piece of watercolor paper.  I swished paint onto the paper using a Flat Waterbrush, quickly dried it with my heat tool, then stamped some random “sand” along the base with Almond Ink.  I used that same “sand” image to create white sea foam.

After stamping the sentiment with Intense Black Ink, I adhered the watercolor paper to a card base, then framed it with a Stitched Glacier Rectangle. Now the fun can begin! After stamping the seashell images with Intense Black, I pulled out a my TriBlend Markers and a few Shimmer Brushes. I was delighted by the fact that each marker had ALL THREE shades I needed to create shadows and dimension – no extra thought needed

Once the sea shell images were shaded, I used a Wisteria Shimmer Brush to add a little color, applied a touch of Gold Shimmer to the Sand Dollar, and drew a few little highlights with a White Gel Pen.  The shells were attached to the card with Foam Tape and a few Rose Gold Sequins added. How simple is that?

Those TriBlends are some of my favorites to shade images with.  Each one comes with all three colors needed to shade and highlight your design.  Members of my VIP Group were able to watch a video showing how these NEW Markers work as they watched me use them to shade my Warm Wishes Card. To me, these are one of the better alcohol markers for crafters, like you and me, who wish create beautifully shaded images without breaking the bank.
