According to my niece, “there is no such thing as too much sparkle & glitter”, especially during the holidays.  My son, who sets up holiday displays for a craft store, would say otherwise as he is picking glitter out of his beard all through December. 😂 I personally believe that there is a happy medium when adding some sparkle to your holiday projects and, today, I am going to show you a few of the glittery details I added to my Sparkling Sleigh Christmas Card.MissCarriesCreations-SparklingSleighCard.jpg

The design of this card is rather simple – two 1¼” strips of embossed White Daisy cardstock, two ¼” strips of Black Glitter paper, and a snowflake background that I cut from White Glitter paper using my Cricut machine. MissCarriesCreations-SliceSnowflakeBackground.JPG

To create the snowflakes, I used an image from our Art Philosophy collection and resized it to 5½” high.  A 2″ x 5½” rectangle shape was added to the canvas, layered atop the snowflake image, and sliced to make my background strip.

Once the background was complete, I stamped a sleigh image using the December Reindeer Crossings stamp set, shaded it with Charcoal & Clear Shimmer Brushes, then cut out the image and placed it onto the card with foam tape.

To add even more sparkle to the card, I brushed Black Shimmer onto a few pine branches that I cut from the Complete Creativity collection, added some Bitty Sparkle accents to the card, and completed the design with a sweet little Stripped Bow.

I wanted to be able to show you how delightfully sparkly this card is, so I had my dear hubby hold some light above it as I snapped this photograph. What do you think of all that sparkle and shimmer for the holidays??

Now ‘Hop” on over to Melissa Robinson’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas.  I hope that this Sparkling Sleigh Christmas Card has inspired you to try something new and add little shimmer to your holiday projects.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
