Christmas Gift Card Pockets

For the Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge

As Christmas draws nearer, I am often scrambling to find some simple gifts to make that  required little effort and are easy on the budget. As I was playing with the Cedar & Pine papers, I realized that each of the patterns would work perfectly for some gift card pockets I wanted to create, and, coincidentally, we just happen to be using those same colors from Cedar & Pine collection at the Color My Heart Dare blog, this week.

You can choose to use any of the colors on this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe board as well as any other neutrals, and your project(s) need to be linked to the site before December 19th.

Almost everyone on my list enjoys getting gift cards and these sweet little pockets were super simple to make using the Buttoned Up Thin Cuts.  If you have some people on your list who you give gift cards to, I have written some step-by-step instructions for you, and created a simple process video for you to view so that you can create some of your own.

Paper Needed: 7½” x 3¾” Cedar & Pine Paper, 3″ x 4½” White Daisy, Cardstock & paper for the Buttoned Up embellishments

Gift Card Pocket Assembly Instructions”
1. Place the 7½” x 3¾” Cedar & Pine Paper with the shorter side at the top of the paper cutter/score board and score at  ¼” on each of the longer sides.

2. Rotate the paper 90° so that the longer side is at the top and score at 3¾”.

3. Cut along the ¼” score lines a little bit past the to the 3¾” score line. Cut at an angle to create the tabs.

4. Fold in the two tabs, apply adhesive to the tabs, then fold up at the 3¾” line to close the gift card pocket.

5. Once the pockets are complete, you can decorate them with the Buttoned Up Thin Cuts, Stickles, and Shimmer Brushes as I did.

I hope that today’s project has inspired you to try something new and join us for this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe Color Dare Challenge.  If you would like to see how each one of these little gems was made, I have created a short process video for you to enjoy.

These Buttoned Up Thin Cuts dies are available for a limited time and are currently low in quantity. If you would like to purchase yourself a set to use on these Christmas Gift Card Pockets and to create my Holiday Treasures Treat Holders, you will want to snag yourself a set soon.

♥ I can’t wait to see what you create!
