This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

Have you ever felt like the creative part of your brain has gone on strike?  I think many of us go though little bouts of craftlessness and, to be honest, I have really be struggling with my creations the past two months. Today’s Christmas card was no exception. After five failed attempts, I was finally able to create something I felt worthy of posting.

This lighted easel card was designed so that a tea light could shine through the back and highlight the evening snow.  I stamped the images onto vellum, heat embossed them, and added a few details using Embossing Pens & ShinHan markers.

The sentiment was also heat embossed onto Sangria cardstock, then attached to the card with foam tape so that the easel portion of the card would stay in place.

The card looks absolutely beautiful all lit up with the flicker of light shining through the vellum. The white glitter paper sparkles in the light and the bits of white embossed snow really stand out.  MissCarriesCreations-ShadowEaselCardLight

I created a short process video to show how I made this card, so that you could create on for the holidays using our Reindeer Crossings stamp set. I hope that it inspires you to create something new.

Now ‘Hop” on over to Krista Hershberger’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas.
