This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

When I first saw  the Best Friends FURever papers, I couldn’t wait to make a layout of our little furball. Now that the kids are grown, I have just as many, if not more photos of her than I do of my kids.  She is our little lap dog who brings us so much joy, and I can’t image life without her. Let me walk you through how I created this layout. I started by adding some Opaque Texture Paste to a striped Kraft paper. I designed a heart overlay in Design Space™, cut it from Vellum, and attached it to the page over the Texture Paste.

I have created a FREE CUT FILE for you to use in Design Space. You will need to own the images from the Artbooking collection to cut out this image.

Most of the paper strips came from the Best Friends FURever paper packet. I was in need of one additional pattern and discovered that the Dots paper from the Mix-Ins pack matched these papers perfectly. A chevron was cut into the bottom of each strip, the strips placed onto the background, then stitched with a sewing machine.

I added the photo with a Kraft paper mat, and some of the stickers from the Best Friends FURever paper pack.  When adding embellishments to your projects, always make sure you have designed a Visual Triangle. This creates flow and balance to any layout.♥

I have created a short process video to teach you about creating a Visual Triangle and show you  how I created the elements on this layout.
