I needed to take a little break from Christmas. I know that many of you are trying to plan ahead and looking for inspiration, but, honestly, I can only handle so much holly jolly this early in the year. You can only image my delight when I discovered that week’s Color Dare Challenge was Thanksgiving♥ related.
Our kids are now grown and bringing home some special significant others, making Thanksgiving a little different than it has been in years past. Since I have the pleasure of hosting, this challenge gave me the perfect excuse to create a few place cards♥ for the holiday table.
I don’t even know if place cards are a “thing” anymore. Growing up, my children could have cared less about how the table was decorated and were more concerned that there was enough turkey for leftovers during the break. Either way, these little 4″ x 3″ tent cards are new “thing” I am adding to my table.
Each one of my cards was created from Almond cardstock with Hawthorn paper accents. The leaves were stamped using a variety of inks then placed atop a stitched circle cut from Espresso paper.
Once the cards were complete, I added each name using the Typewriter stamp set which, ideally, matches my decor for the season.
These Thanksgiving Place Cards are simple to create and fun to make♥. I have created a simple tutorial showing you how to make each of these place cards using the Rock-n-Roll stamping technique.
I hope that you have been inspired and will join us for this week’s Color My Heart Color Dare challenge. Make sure to stop by and see all of the challenges available and enter your creations for a chance to win the monthly prize.

So cute! The leaves are striking & I love how they are framed.
Thank you. I wanted them to have a multi-shaded look so I rolled the stamp in two separate inks.
Cards for me for sure. Beautiful coloring on those leaves!
Thank you. I used the RockNRoll technique. I’ll be showing how I did this in my VIP Group next week.
Carrie these are so pretty but the Mom card is my favorite. Those colors really speak to me and you did a great job on both cards!
Thank you, Michelle. I wanted each one to reflect the person they were made for which meant changing the colors a little. I love the look of purple and green together.
