Holiday Cheer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Holiday Cheer Blog Hop where we will be featuring products from our Holiday Cheer monthly special. 73276490_10156830555192686_7077222899618152448_n.jpgIf you have come here from Darlys Recker’s blog, you are on the right path!  When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

As I began playing with all of the products in the Holiday Cheer products, I pulled out my Cricut™ machine and started playing with the Free SvGs that come with the bundle. After creating those fun ornaments in the background, I realized that they did not meet the specifications for this hop, so I decided to start over and created this sweet little Tree Trimming Christmas card instead using stamped images from one of the Holiday Cheer stamp sets. MissCarriesCreations-HolidayCheerBH-TreeTrimmingCardSM.jpg

If you take a look at the image in the Traditional Holiday stamp set, you will see that the truck and the tree are one complete image. To create the image you see, I used a masking technique. Let me show you how I did this.

I began by stamping the image onto a full-adhesive sticky note. I cut apart the sticky note into two separate images – the tree & the truck – and placed the mask down onto my cardstock. I stamped the truck portion using Intense Black Ink, then switched to the other mask and stamped the tree in Evergreen.

By creating the masks, I was able to stamp the image in the colors I desired.  This is a simple way to alter an image without cutting the stamp. I shaded the truck using TriBlend Markers, cut out the image, and attached it to the card. MissCarriesCreations-HolidayCheerBH-TreeTrimmingCarddetail.jpg

As I said earlier in the post, I also used the Holiday Cheer SvGs to create some charming ornaments. I will be posting a tutorial showing you how I made those creations next week.MissCarriesCreations-HolidayCheerSvGOrnaments.jpg

Now ‘Hop” on over to Ramona Temple’s blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas. The Holiday Cheer bundle is only available through November 30th, so be sure to contact your CTMH Consultant, or visit the Promotions tab of my website to see how you can save 30% on this bundle.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
