My goal this year has been to show you how to use your “stuff”, and today’s blog hop gives me the perfect opportunity to share some Basic Heat Embossing Techniques♥ with you. How many embossing powders do you have sitting in your craft space? Can you remember the last time you used them? Today, I plan to inspire you to pull out those bottles as I share four basic heat embossing techniques I used on my Grateful Sunflower card. 
At the very bottom of the post, you will find a list of the supplies I used as well as a video I created♥ for my VIP group showing various ways to use embossing powders.
Simple Embossed Sentiments♥
This is how most of us use our embossing powders. After stamping the sentiment using a VersaMark™ Ink, I sprinkled White Embossing powder over the image, then used a Heat Tool to set the powder.
Combining VersaMark with An Exclusive Ink♥
There are times we want to create an embossed look using a specific color. On my project, I wanted to center image to be embossed in Saffron. Using my stamp platform, I first stamped the image in VersaMark™ Ink, then stamped the image again with Saffron Exclusive Ink, sprinkled it with Clear Embossing Powder, and heat the image.
Combining Multiple Embossing Powders♥
The center of the sunflower has a slight shimmer, which was achieved by mixing Clear Embossing Powder with a small amount of Copper Tinsel. You don’t need much and you need to plan on throwing the mixture away when you are finished. This time, I stamped with a Pigment Ink to get the color I wanted for the center of the sunflower. 
Embossing Pens Add Detail♥
Our new Embossing Pens are a great way to add little bits of embossed elements. After stamping and shading my leaves, I used the Embossing Pen to accent the veins.
Here is another photo of the card showing all the details♥ I was able to create with each of the Heat Embossing Techniques. These are just a few of the ways you can use your stash of embossing powders.

Love embossing – pretty sure watching the powder magically melt into a shinny raised image the first time got me into cardmaking over 20 odd years ago. Love how you showed lots of different techniques & tips. And your card is so pretty. TFS
I feel the same way. I taught my 11yo niece how to heat emboss and she was completely taken by the melting powder.
