It’s All About the Sparkle with H2H

Who doesn’t love a little sparkle? Today, I am sharing beautiful Holiday Poinsettia Ornament on the Heart2Heart blog that is full of red & gold sparkle, and I have created a short process video showing you exactly how I made it.  If you love all that sparkles, why don’t you share something you have created with us at Heart2Heart.

This lovely Poinsettia ornament was created using the Holiday Cheer kit, then attached to the front of a simple card base card.  My shaker ornament has been filled with Gold Sequins and topped with a simple Black & White striped bow. The recipient of this card not only gets a Christmas greeting, they also have a gift to add to their tree.MissCarriesCreations-SparkleOrnamentCardH2H

I began by stamping the ornament base and the frame with VersaMark Ink. I sprinkled the stamped images with Red Tinsel Embossing Powder then heat set the images. I prefer the texture and sparkle of the Tinsel Embossing Powders on my holiday projects, and I adore how it sparkles♥ when it hits the light.

The Poinsettia was stamped with Candy Apple Pigment Ink, then heat embossed using Clear Embossing powder. Originally, I had used black ink for the Poinsettia image, but found that the sentiment stamped on the acetate did not stand out as well when the flower was also stamped in black.

After the Poinsettia image was heat embossed, I shaded it using Watercolor Pencils and Shimmer Brushes. I realize that part of the image should be shaded green, but I prefer the look of an all red flower that is full of sparkle in the background.

Once all the images were stamped, I assembled the ornament and attached it to the card. Here is a simple process video showing you how to put the components of our Holiday Cheer kit together.

I hope that this project inspired you and that you share your Sparkle creation with us at the Heart2Heart challenge blog.  While you are there, I encourage you to view all of the October challenges and take a look at the stunning projects created by the design team and other entrants.

I can’t wait to see what you create!!
