Spooktacular Blog Hop

Like many of you, our family does not do much for Halloween, so when I signed up for this blog hop I immediately began racking my brain trying to figure out what I was going to create.  I looked through the Spooktackular papers & stickers and was elated when I realized that the patterns not as ghoulish as I had anticipated♥ and I knew exactly what to make.

These photos are over 16 years old and the memories attached are still embedded in my child’s mind. We had just lost a grandparent unexpectedly, moved into a new neighborhood in a much smaller town, enrolled the kids into a new school, and my son was turning nine.  I had the “brilliant” idea to invite some boys we barely knew into our home for a Creepy Crawly birthday party in hopes that this would spark some friendships.  (Don’t ever do this to an introverted  child.)

As you can see in these photos, it wasn’t what any of us expected. A house full of elementary school boys was quite the eye opening experience. 🤣 On this layout, I took advantage of the bright colors, the creepy crawly spiders, and added a few Cricut™ cuts to portray the creepy crawly theme.

The title of the layout was also created using my Cricut™, then shaded using the Jade TriBlend Marker.  Having three colors in one allowed me to create an ombre effect♥ on the title and I love how it turned out.
