Welcome to the It’s in the Script! Penmanship is not my greatest talent. As much as I am oooing and ahhhing over the New Melissa Esplin how-to book, it keeps getting shifted to the bottom of my “to-do” list. I have a goal to start someday. (probably about the time I start playing the piano again).  If you are a bit like me, don’t be disheartened♥ because there are some stunning stamp sets that you can use until you reach your penmanship goals. 

As much as I wanted to have conquered my goal to have the perfect penmanship by today, it just didn’t happen. Real life happened and I had to put it on the back burner, for now. That didn’t mean I couldn’t still participate with my fellow “hoppers” because the Sentiments by Melissa Esplin stamp set was the perfect addition♥ to this collection of exquisite cards. 

No, there is not a filter on my photograph. These cards have been created using a simple palette of grayish tones.♥  Many years back, when we had another Sunflower stamp set, I created a set of colorless cards in Black & White, and I was inspired by the plaid Mix-in pattern to create another – this time in Grey.

Each card was stamped with images from the Sunflower Sympathy stamp set using Pewter & Charcoal inks. I added some Black Velvet Ribbon to each card and a strip of that Neural Toned Plaid paper.

I cut a label from the Artistry Collection in White Daisy & Charcoal cardstock, then stamped the sentiment using Intense Black Ink.  I even created the little line around the edge of the label using my Cricut machine. (love this feature)

I hope you enjoyed these simple, colorless, yet, practical cards.♥ My hope is to be able to write the sentiments, in the future, once I have worked on my penmanship. Let’s make it a goal to get it of our “to-do” lists and start learning TODAY.
