Creating a Fall Blessings Card for Color My Heart Dare

It’s a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge at Color My Heart Dare, and, this week, we are asking you to use up a few of those leftover supplies as we create with retired CTMH colors.  As you will see, I chose to use some “non-typical” fall colors to create a Fall Blessing card.  Before I show you my project, let’s look at the Tic-Tac-Toe Board.68773621_10214613503073271_2758369061397069824_n.jpg

Choose a row, column, or diagonal to create something new, then link your creation before September 27th.  I chose to use the color palette from Row two with Pomegranate and Emerald, then added my color of choice –  Goldrush. Why Goldrush? Our Love of Color Book shows Goldrush as a complementary color to Emerald, and I felt that this would be the perfect color combination for a Fall card.

I felt like the Goldrush cardstock was a bit too harsh for my background, so I inked our Stitched Circles Embossing Folder, and ran it through my embossing machine. If you have never created an Inked Embossed Background before, you can view a tutorial HERE.  I layered my cardstock, added some stitching, then began stamping the leaves using the Hawthorn Scrapbooking Stamp set.

I wanted a multi-colored look to my leaves, so I stamped them in Emerald, Pomegranate, & Goldrush, then I rolled ink onto the edges of the stamp and added another layer of color to the edges of each of the leaves.

The bow was created by adding Goldrush Ink to White Ribbon. This is a great way to make matching ribbon for a project. Make sure to “heat-set” it or let it dry a few days before using.  I cut a Stitched Circle from Goldrush Cardstock, added the sentiment, attached a few Gold Sequins and the card was complete.

I hope that this card inspired you to join the Color My Heart Dare challenge. Stop by each week for a new challenge and be inspired by all the wonderful creations.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
