Celebrate National Stamping Month with Heart2Heart

September is National Stamping Month, and what better way to celebrate then with a Stamping Challenge from Heart2Heart. This month, we are asking you to pull out those stamps and create something magnificent.

Before I show you my project, I want to preface by saying that this card was a challenge for me.  I wanted to showcase as many elements as I could from our Share the Seasons bundle, and I just continued to face obstacles. (I am sure you have been in my shoes) MissCarriesCreations-StampItUpH2H.png

I debated remaking the card about ten times over, but decided that it was good as is, and it would provide me with a few techniques to share.  Let me show you how I made this card.

I began by creating stencil with the Share the Seasons Thin Cut.  It took me a few passes with my Sizzix to cut through the Stencil film, but I was able to create something I will be able to use over and over again. After masking of the edges, I used a blending tool to apply Nectarine and Paprika Ink onto the entire piece of White Daisy cardstock.

I chose to use two stamp sets for this month’s challenge. The Coffee Cup was cut from French Vanilla and Kraft Paper, then stamped in Espresso Ink. I created a mask for the cup, then began stamping the background images using leaves from the Giving Thanks stamp set.

I prefer to create “masks” from Full Adhesive Notes.  They are super sticky, stay in place, and are easy to cut with a Craft Knife.  When the Coffee Cup was complete, I stamped a Saffron Coffee Sleeve, and assembled the cup.

I added some Julip paper, White Burlap Twine, some Espresso Leaves, and a small acrylic Heart to the front of the card and decided it was complete…EXCEPT.. at that moment I decided to attempt to stamp a sentiment and it didn’t work out so well. Hey, it’s okay. We all have those moments and we all make mistakes that will be forever ingrained into our crafting brain.

I hope that this card has inspired you to join us for this month’s Heart2Heart Stamping Month challenge. Don’t forget to link-up your projects before September 30th.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
