A Shadowbox Card Full of Hope for Color My Heart Dare

Life can get rough and we often need a little sparkle of hope, so for this week’s Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge, I decided to make a fanciful, shadowbox card that I plan to display as a little reminder that hope blooms where we least expect it. MissCarriesCreations-BloomHopeCardSide.jpg

“Where flowers Bloom, so does Hope”. Lady Bird Johnson

How sweet is this? Our challenge this week is a Mix-It Up Tic-Tac-Toe and, for my Hope Blooms Shadowbox card, I chose to use New England Ivy, Ballerina, and Charcoal. You can chose to use any of the colors you wish in a row, diagonal, or column. (Black & White can also be used)

I created the insert for my card using the images from the Where Happiness Blooms Stamp set bundle. I randomly stamped the background using New England Ivy then sponged it with White Daisy Ink to lighten it. After stamping the images, I shaded them with Watercolor Pencils to add a  variation of color, and placed it into a Shadowbox frame I created in Cricut Design Space™.

You can Get this Shadowbox Card File FREE as a Thank You gift when you place an order on my website in August

The outer portion of the card was also created in Cricut Design Space™ and cut from Ballerina cardstock and a Floral pattern from the Mix-Ins paper pack.  To create the sentiment, I stamped acetate using Black StazOn ink and sandwiched it between two pieces of cardstock on the back of the cover. (Here is a great tutorial for using StazOn.)

A little ribbon and the card was compete. I hope that it inspired you to join the Color My Heart Challenge this week. You have until August 16th to share your creation with us. Make sure to stop by the website and check out the other challenges we have to offer.

I can’t wait to see what you create!!

    1. OH! I can’t wait to see it! I created mine in Design Space, but I know there are tons of tutorials showing how to create one. (BTW – I am giving this file away in Aug to anyone who makes a purchase on my website.)
