My project this week is fairly simple. I have become fond of the simplicity of white space ♥ on my projects, especially when it allows the focus to shift to the elements and sentiments. I honestly feel like the emotions shine through when you create something with such simplicity.
For the background, I used our Square & Rectangle Stitched Thin Cut dies to create a window effect. Before layering the White Daisy cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Black then sponged the base of my card with Canary and Ballerina ink and used the Fine Tip Applicator on my Liquid Glass to create random dots.
The flower was created using out Stitched Flowers and Fringe Border Thin Cuts. I am going to show you technique ♥ that I have done in the past with my Cricut™ flowers. I recently was reminded by my friend Andrea, at GIRLplusPAPER, that this technique could also be used for these flowers.
After cutting the flowers from Ballerina cardstock & Vellum paper, I sponged each one with Ballerina ink. I cut between each of the petals and used my Bone Folder to roll each of the petals downward. I then layered the flowers using Foam Dots and added Clear Shimmer to the Vellum flower, causing the Vellum petals to roll more like the center of a flower.
To create the center, I cut the Fringe in half, rolled it with a Quilling tool and adhered it using Liquid Glass. (TIP: Make sure you also order the Fine Tip Applicator. You won’t regret it.) Once the adhesive had dried, I curled each fringe then attached it to the center of the flower.
I added some leaves from the Craft-On Cut Apart page and cut patterned paper leaves from Craft-On paper using the dies in the Stitched Flowers Thin Cuts set. Clean, Simple, and done.♥
