Brush Up on Your Cricut™ Crafting Skills

If you read Tuesday’s post, you learned that I am spending this week at the Close to My Heart Convention. Instead of leaving my blog empty, I have decided to do a recap of some of my favorite tutorials from the past year. Today, we are going to brush-up on a few Design Space™ skills. Some of these may be ones you already know, and others may be some you always wanted to know. Either way, I hope they inspire you to dust off your Cricut™ machine and try something new.

♥ Layering Flower Images on Your Canvas

Many of you may own the Flower Market Collection and have no idea how to size, layer, or manipulate the three-dimensional flower images on your Canvas. This tutorial on Layering Flowers in Design Space will walk you a few simple techniques to insure your flower images are going to be cut and layered to the size you need for your project.

♥ Using the Contour Feature

Did you know that you can  double, or even triple, the number of images in a collection using the Hide Contour feature? You have to be able to think outside the box a little bit, but when you follow this tutorial, you will be able to add even more images to your ever growing collection.

Write & Journal with Your Cricut™

Yes, it’s true. You can use some of those amazing fonts you have downloaded and create some whimsical journaling for your scrapbook page. You can also use this Journal Technique to create sentiments for the inside of your cards. How cool is that??!

♥ Using Hidden Layers to Your Advantage

I’ll admit it. Sometimes that little hidden images feature gets annoying. Especially when you thought you had shadow image, look all over for it, then realize it’s hidden. (eye-roll) Instead of being annoyed by that little eye-ball, take advantage of it by following my Hidden Layers tutorial. Once you understand how to use it, the Hidden Layers feature will become one you use often.

Did you know that a few of these tutorials are available as LIVE videos in my Facebook group? If you are a member of my VIP Group, you can access these videos at any time and let me show you how to use Design Space™.  As a Close to My Heart consultant and Cricut™ addict, I truly enjoy showing you how to use your machine and prevent it from becoming a paper weight.  If you live locally, you can attend one of my Cricut™ Classes or Retreats and learn even more fun ways to create with your Cricut™.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
