Let’s Make a Road Trip Layout for Color My Heart Color Dare

We are playing with the Into the Wild Collection at the Color My Heart Color Dare blog, and I hope that I can inspire you to create something new with this Life is a Road Trip layout. You can use any row, column, or set of colors from this Tic-Tac-Toe “Into the Wild” Color Palette in your creation. (Black & White Free – NO Extra Neutrals).

The Into the Wild Collection is one of my favorites this season, and I chose to pair it with the Happy Trails Stamp set to create a layout that explains life as a mom – it’s quite an adventure. If you wish to recreate this layout, you can find the complete list of supplies I used at the very bottom of this post.

With four kids, ages 1 – 6, we chose to spend many days outdoors and often made trips to the Rocky Mountains to fish, hike, or just let the kids climb and burn energy. Life with littles can be like a road trip – rocky, adventurous, full of twists and turns, and always worth the journey. As you can see here, I described my adventures using a few of the Into the Wild Complements throughout my page.

I am sure you are wondering why I chose to describe motherhood on an road trip layout. Well, I believe that scrapbooking is about more than just recording where we have been or what we are doing…it’s about how we feel in the moment.  Attempting to get a photo of four kids, traveling a few hours to get them out of the house, visiting the same spot we visit a few times every summer – these are more than just photos of where we have been – these are photos of life as a young mom trying to make sure her kids are still alive at the end of the day.

It is because life is like a Road Trip ~ always worth taking & you need to enjoy every minute of it.

I hope that I have inspired you to create something new this week and I would love to see your creation on the Color My Heart Color Dare blog. You don’t have to have a blog to participate. You can load your link through Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, or SplitCoast Stampers. You can read the complete list of rules HERE.

I can’t wait to see what you create!

  1. Loving all of your outdoor layouts and this one is no exception!! They are so perfect for life here in Colorado. I love your inspirations and may just have to lift a few elements for my own scrapbooks.

  2. Loved this layout at first glance & then took a closer look…SWOON! And then I noticed you paper pierced the camper…oh my word!
