Happy Father’s Day with a Gift Card

Most of the men I know would love a gift card for Father’s Day, especially when it comes in a handmade card. Today, I am going to show you a simple card you can make using a pattern from our MIFYH Card Pattern How-To Book and the You’re Awesome stamp set.

Our Make It From Your Heart How-To Books come with amazing patterns and ideas for creating scrapbook pages and cards.  I used the pattern from page 13 of the MIFYH Vol4 How-To Book to design the front of my card. In this book, you will find inspiration for card making AND the cutting guide for each card in the book. MissCarriesCreations-YourAwesomrGiftCard-HowToBook

To create the Pop-Up Gift Card holder, I scored a 4¼” x 9½” piece of New England Ivy cardstock at 3½”, 4¾” and 6″ along the longer side. I then used a medium Stitched Square Thin Cut to create a place for my gift card to slip into.

If you do not own the Stitched Square Thin Cuts, you can create a partial slit along the 4¾” score line and use an Oval Thin Cut to create the slot for your gift card. Fold the cardstock on the scorelines, then attach to the inside of your card.

The rest of the card was simple to make using images from the You’re Awesome stamp set. I chose to use Heather, Mink, Sapphire, and New England Ivy inks to match our Into the Wild papers. MissCarriesCreations-YourAwesomrGiftCard

If you would like to see how I made this card, you can view the LiVe Video that I created for my VIP members in the Create with Miss. Carrie Facebook group. This group has been designed for my customers who wish to learn how to create some fun projects using Close to My Heart products. I hope that you enjoyed today’s tutorial and that you give this card a try.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
