With Father’s Day a little over a week away, you might be looking for a little inspiration for a last-minute quick and easy card♥ to make. Well, let me help you out, my friend. I realized that this week’s Color My Heart Color Dare colors had a bit of a masculine feel, so I decided to use a few of those to create a Father’s Day card.
This card was super simple to make♥ using some leftover Close to My Heart supplies I had on hand. (You can find the full list of supplies I used at the very bottom of this post.) As I said, my inspiration for the color pallet came from the Color My Heart Color Dare blog. I chose to use Linen, Candy Apple, New England Ivy, and Sapphire.
Paper Needed: 5½” x 4¼” Linen Cardstock, 5¼” x 2¾” Plaid Paper (Into the Wild), (2) 5¼” x ¹/8″ Candy Apple Cardstock, (2) 5¼” x ½” Zip-Strip (Into the Wild), (3) 2¹/8″ x 1½” White Daisy Cardstock, (3) 1½” x 1³/8″ Sapphire Paper (True Love)
Quick Tips to Help You Make this Card
♥I added stitching over the Candy Apple Cardstock. This was to done intentionally to “mute” the color.
♥ The Tags were created by stamping the “I ♥ You” tag topper onto each of the 2¹/8″ x 1½” White Daisy Cardstock pieces with Sapphire Ink. I then trimmed each into a “tag” shape, attached 1½” x 1³/8″ Sapphire Paper below the stamped image, and added White Foam letters to the tags. You could also spell “Pop” for a grandfather.
♥ The two Wooden Triangles are from our bag of Wood Shapes. I wanted a “natural” element on the card and these provided the perfect accent.
