It’s Your Day to Sparkle SOTM Blog Hop

Recently, I have fallen for the color sage. I am not sure if it because the color has been so prevalent in the papers I am using lately, or if it has something to do with my ever-changing moods. Either way, sage has been on my favorites list♥ and, this week, I chose to use it as a backdrop for a simple anniversary card I created using our It’s Your Day to Sparkle stamp set.

I chose to use a pattern from our True Love papers and pair it with Lilac, Sugarplum, Eggplant and silver♥. After stitching the background layers together, I repeatedly stamped the sentiment onto some Sage cardstock and layered it behind a Sugarplum Stitched Frame. (If you would like to recreate this card, I have listed the supplies I used at the very bottom of this post.)

The cake image was stamped with Intense Black Ink, then shaded with ink♥. (yes, ink) I “smooshed” the ink pads so that some ink was applied to the inside of the lid and used my Waterbrushes to shade the layers of the cake. This is a simple way to ensure your image matches your papers.

I added some loops of Silver Embellishing Thread, hearts from the True Love cut-apart page, and Bitty Sparkles to finish the card. I hope that this card inspired you♥ to try something new and that you post what you created in my VIP Facebook Group.
