Here is something that not many people know. Creating scrapbook pages is REALLY HARD for me. Kits? Kits are easy. I can “throw” together a few faceless pages any day, but pages with my own personal photos…those can leave me in tears. In fact, I have avoided scrapbooking for over fifteen years because of this, but today – – – – today is a new adventure♥. I made it a personal goal this year to start scrapbooking my own photos. FIFTEEN YEARS worth of photos. That can be quite the overwhelming task, so I am starting where I am with the ones I love most and getting them done just a little at a time. Since it is National Scrapbooking Month, I thought I would share one of the layouts I have been working on. I have also decided to share this layout on the Heart2Heart NSM Challenge.
On this project, I am using some of my favorite papers♥ – The World is Yours and Into the Wild. Both of these paper suites, along with their Stickers & Complements, helped me to create a beautiful backdrop for this amazing photo my husband took of our son. You can see that I did quite a bit of layering with the paper, vellum snowflakes, and images. I even took a few “Stars” from the Into the Wild Cut-Apart-Page and turned them into little stitched circle snowflakes.
I only shed a few tears as I created it, but that is because this boy (man really) reminds me of someone we lost and so many things that I tried to forget and now I get to relive the good memories♥ again.
It took me a little longer than I hoped, but I was able to complete a full two-page layout with photos. I am realizing that it’s going to take me some time♥ to get back into the “grove” of scrapbooking and to figure out my “scrapbooking-style”.
I will need to sit down and journal the memories on this layout. After all, that is the most important part of the page – the story behind the photos. We all have a story♥ we need to tell, and today, you were able to hear some of mine.
Don’t forget to stop by my website and order your The World Is Yours paper pack before it retires on May 31st♥. I have used these papers for quite a few of my projects recently and am loving the versatility of all the patterns.
♥ I can’t wait to see what you create!

WOW!! I really love your layout!! I wish I had the nerve to try stitching on my layouts, maybe one of these days. I love the neutral colors with the pops of color for the snow layout. Thank you for joining us at Heart 2 Heart!
Thank you, Cat. I like the texture that stitching adds to a project. It can be a little time consuming, but worth it. I’d love to see you give it a try.
Beautiful page and bravo to you for starting to scar your photos. I love how this turned out. Thank you for planing along with us at H2H

Thank you, Brandi. I was trying my best to tone down the “hunter orange” my boys wear and showcase the photo. I’m glad you like it.
Simply beautiful. Every bit of it! LOVE!
