My favorite quote is “Start where you are, Use what you have, Do what you can”. I like using what I have to make something new, so, for this week’s Tuesday Tutorial, I am going to show you how you can create two additional cards using the Choose to Shine cardmaking kit. Here is what the original kit looks like in the catalog:
Each of our eight cardmaking kits supply you with easy-to-follow instructions, a stamp set, and the materials needed to ♥create twelve beautiful cards♥, BUT what if you want to make more cards?
You have a stamp set ♥ You have papers ♥ You have a guide♥
What more could you make?
You can create other cards other than the ones shown in the kit! (gasp) It’s perfectly okay to venture out and use the supplies from the kit to create something new like these two cards I created. I added a few additional supplies I already had on hand and made two quick, unique cards I can send. Aren’t these fun?My original plan was a create a video to show you how to make your own, but, unfortunately, after two hours of prep and filming, my six year old phone will not allow me to send it to any video editor. So…instead of crying in a corner…
Here are a few tips for creating each card:
♥ Some of the backgrounds and frames were created using our Stitched Rectangle and Stitched Square Thin Cuts.
♥ The Scallop Border on each of the cards was cut using the Decorative Border Thin Cuts.
♥ The Checked Border was created using the Zip-Strip from the paper in the kit.
♥ The inks I used are Candy Apple, Lemon, Mint, Clover, and Sapphire.
My hope is to try again to recreate the video and post it on my VIP Group page. I am sorry that it did not work out this week. Don’t forget, the Choose to Shine cardmaking kit is only available through April 30th, while supplies last. I will have more in videos the future that you can watch, enjoy, and be inspired from. Make sure to follow me online so that you can be one of the first ones to see each one of them.
♥ I can’t wait to see what you create!
