This Happened ~ March SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to the This Happened Stamp of the Month Blog Hop where we will be featuring the March This Happened stamp set. 49708615_10156181121437686_5131541734584483840_n.jpgIf you have come here from Gina Brandstetter’s blog, you are on the right path!  When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of artwork created by some very talented consultants.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

I made it a goal this year to create pages that contained actual photos. Although this event happened over 15 years old, the photos are finally going to appear in an album and our This Happened stamp set created the perfect place for me to record my memories.

MissCarriesCreations-FieldDayLayoutI will admit, I am a tad bit rusty when it comes to creating my own personal scrapbook pages.  (here is where I get a little personal) When a family member passed away 15 years ago, I couldn’t bring myself to create pages anymore, and it wasn’t until I “had to” scrapbook some photos last summer that I realized how much I missed it.

Since I am a bit on the rusty side, I decided to use a cutting guide from the So Much Happy Scrapbook workshop as a starting point. The color palette of the Something Fierce paper collection fit my photos, but needed a little inspiration for a layout.  This is why I always download our guides. Even though this is a current guide you can download on my website, you never know how it will inspire you long after the paper pack is gone.MissCarriesCreations-SoMuchHappyLayoutOneI only chose to use a few of the stamped images on my layout. Most of the accents are from the Something Fierce Cut-Apart page or Complements, but that large “Remember” stamp was a great addition and a perfect way for me to journal the memories.

If you look closely, you will see that I stamped the “Take Note” to use the top portion of the stamped image as an accent and the “What a Day” sentiment fit perfectly with a memory full of field day five-year-olds.

Now ‘Hop” on over to Katy Taylor’s blog to see her work! She always has something beautiful to inspire you. Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting tips and other fun ideas. Remember, the Remember This stamp set is only available until March 30th .  Contact your CTMH Consultant, or visit the Promotions tab of my website to see how you can get this stamp set for only $5.00.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
