February SOTM Blog Hop – Heartfelt Sentiments

Welcome to the Heartfelt Sentiments Stamp of the Month Blog Hop where we will be featuring the February Heartfelt Sentiments stamp set. Blog Badge.jpgIf you have come here from Lauren Moore’s blog, you are on the right path!  When you are finished reading my post, you can click on the link at the end to move to the next blog. This blog hop is simple, fun, and full of ideas using our beautiful Heartfelt Sentiments stamp set. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

When I first spied this stamp set, it reminded me of an old world tattoo like the ones you often see on faded vintage posters advertising to military personnel. That vision is what inspired my card for this blog hop.

heartfeltsentimentssotmbloghop-misscarriescreationsTo keep with the “faded” feel, I chose to stamp the image in Charcoal ink, then use my Black Journaling Pen to fill in part of the sentiment. The rest of the card was simple.  I used Watercolor Pencils to shade a small portion of each image, then used a variety of Shimmer Brushes to pull the color onto the rest of the image.

I backed my sentiment with Gold Foil and Red Glitter paper to add to that vintage feel.  This month’s, Heartfelt Sentiments stamp of the month defiantly has an old-world feel and is full of possibilities.
