T-Rex Valentine Hugs

Creating cards for boys can be a challenge, especially ones who are 6.5’+ bearded bears who find your “mom feelings” a bit too mushy for their taste. The other challenge, when creating these Valentines, is to make sure they aren’t too frilly and have a slight sense of “dad humor” added.  Yesterday, I posted my “I Dig You” Valentine and, today, I am showing you another way to use the Something Fierce collection and add a little “pun” to your cheesy Valentine collection.

Did you giggle a little? To tell you the truth, I rolled my eyes once I was finished, and my husband just laughed at the irony of it all, so I knew it was a perfect card for one of my sons. When I first began this project, I knew that I wanted to use the T-Rex Image , but I couldn’t quite figure out how to use a Raspberry colored dinosaur for a “boy” card.

Out came the Love of Color Book and I was able to find some other colors that would tone down the pink and make this appear more masculine (as masculine as you can get for a Valentine) I realized at this point that it would be a perfect entry for the Heart2Heart Love of Color and the Sunday Stamps Pretty in Pink Challenges.

After deciding on the color palette and the images, I thumbed through  my stamp collection to find a sentiment that would fit this monstrous beast. Wouldn’t you know it, the A Piece of My Heart stamp set had the perfect sentiment to make this silly card. 🙄

Please take the time to stop by the Heart2Heart blog and see the other creations for this challenge and make sure you stop by tomorrow for one more cheesy dinosaur valentine.

I can’t wait to see what you create!
