When the new Holiday Expressions catalog first came out, I was extremely happy to see that we now carry a variety of Chipboard Monograms. Monograms are one of the most popular home decor items on Pinterest and, today, I am going to give you a few tips for creating this beautiful Fall Monogram for your home. You can find the compete list of supplies I used on my project at the very bottom of this post.
To create this “Thankful” Fall Monogram, I began by adhering the Woodgrain paper to my Chipboard “T” using a tape runner. If you choose to use liquid adhesive, make sure to apply full coverage to the chipboard or you will be able to see the lines of glue through the paper. You can choose from any of the Grateful Heart papers for your background. I picked this color combination to match the decor in my craftroom.
Once I had chosen my background pattern, I opened up Cricut Design Space™ and created the Sunflower, Leaves, and “Thankful” using images from of our Cricut Collections. I love the added texture and design that the paper patterns give to my flower. If you would like to recreate this Sunflower, you can follow the Chocolate Sunflower tutorial I created last November.
After cutting out and assembling my images, I decided that I needed to add a few of the Complements to my design. I really like the look of those Copper Veined Leaves and the Copper Butterfly, so I chose to add them along with the Pomegranate Heart.
I tied the whole design together by heat embossing the Scrolling with Copper Tinsel Embossing Powder and adding a few Cork Shapes. How easy is that?
There are so many wonderful things you can create with these Chipboard Monograms! (I am using a few for Christmas gifts that I will be sharing with you later.) This Fall Monogram can stand alone on it’s own or be added to a frame, like I did, or even to the center of a fall wreath.
