One of my favorite colors in the fall is Flannel. Yes, I said flannel. Unfortunately, I sometimes look like a lost lumberjack who should be wielding a bloody ax, but it is still one of my cozy, comfy favorites in the fall. Hence, the need to create this layout. I wanted a reason to use some of these Hello Pumpkin papers, and display my love flannel.
Our Hello Pumpkin collection has these delightful paper patterns of Black Flannel and Tangerine Gingham that I wanted to use for the background, but I didn’t want it to look “holloween-ish” so I struggled a little on how to put these two together. Thank goodness for Close to My Heart’s Love of Color Idea Book! All I had to do was look up “Tangerine” and, TA-DA, a usable color palette of Sapphire, Fern, Canary, Charcoal, and Tangerine.
As you can see in this layout, I chose to use Pacifica instead of Sapphire to lighten my layout just a bit, but, even after I exchanged a few of the colors for others in the suggested palette, it still came together nicely. By using the Love of Color Idea Book, I was able to have a springboard to begin creating.
Our Love of Color Book is defiantly a must have in your library. If you haven’t had a chance to look through the Love of Color Idea Book, you should come to one of my events. I always tote it along for ideas and would love to show you how wonderfully designed this book is. Not only is is chock-full of color palette suggestions, but it is also packed with idea upon idea for layouts, cards, home decor, and more.
My “Favorite Color is Flannel” Layout will be available in my online store as a kit to purchase, but I will not be providing a guide for sale at this time. Unfortunately, there has not been a need for my guides in quite a while, so I am backing off on creating them. If you wish to continue purchasing my guides, please let me know because if there is no need for them, sadly, they will be no longer be available.
UPDATE: Due to the amount of requests for this guide – it has been created and is available for purchase in my online store. Thank you to all those who had such kind words and have been kind enough to purchase my guides.
To all my flannel loving friends, may your closet be full of your favorite patterns and colors, and may you stay cozy and warm this winter. I can’t wait to see what you create!
