The Challenges of Documented

It’s depressing really, that such a beautiful paper pack has been set aside for the last four months crying to be turned into a card, or layout, or even a simple tag. Oh, dear Documented. How sorry I am that my summer got away from me and I haven’t taken the time to use the intriguing parchment full of doors, nor have I layered with your bricks. I have lacked the time to use up all of your glorious complements. Oh, dear Documented. Today is the day we finally play.

Documented was one you may have found intriguing and, maybe like me, you set it aside hoping for inspiration.  I made a goal to use up these papers before the season ended so  I decided to seek inspiration in this week’s Color My Heart Dare and Heart2Heart Duly Noted challenges. By “forcing” myself to use up these papers, I was able to come up with a glorious layout full of texture and shine.

This layout involved layering various paper patterns from the Documented pack onto that glorious brick background. I added some stitching, Flower Market Flowers, a few stickers, some Silver Glitter paper and ended up with what you see here.  I honestly didn’t expect it to turn out the way that it did, but all the patterns and colors of the Documented paper pack really play well together.

I will suggest that when using Documented that you keep your color palette simple or you will feel a bit overwhelmed.  Since the Color My Heart Dare required the use of only Peacock, Linen, Eggplant, and Silver, I was able to keep my color choices to a minimum and really make those paper patterns shine.
