Fun Summer Adventure Layout

Do you enjoy using sketches as inspiration for your layouts? I know I do.  Recently a sketch from Scrapbook & Cards Today popped up in my email, and I knew I needed to use it for a layout.  The color choices for this photo may seem odd, but it is for a scrapbook I have begun making for myself. A scrapbook of random memories and happy moments of things important to me.  This photo is an older photo, but the story behind it is one I cannot forget and one I want my family to remember.

As I try to recall some of the stories behind older photos, I find it hard, at times, to remember.  (My memories are beginning to fade as badly as some of my photos.) This is the reason behind my own personal scrapbook. To keep alive those memories that have faded so family members to know the story when I can no longer tell it.

If you would like to recreate this spectacular layout, you can use the sketch I used from Scrapbook & Cards Today.  I did not have as many photos as shown, but I was able to use this delightful sketch as a base for my layout.

On this layout I used paper patterns from both the Central Park and Beautiful Friendship collections. I love the color combination of blue and pink along with neutral grey tones. I also pulled from both of these complement collections.  I liked the simplicity of the “Fun” title from our Beautiful Friendship set. After punching out the letters, I used some paper from Central Park to highlight the word. The remaining complements came from Central Park and fit this layout perfectly along with a few random pieces of Bashful Glitter Paper.

This layout will tell a story – a story of why taking photos of loved ones is important. A photo telling them that time is fleeting, life goes to quickly, and you need to savor each adventurous moment.  I hope you are inspired by this sketch and take some time to record memories you want you family to remember.  I can’t wait to see what you create!
