Birthday Time Layout

Birthdays are major events for some, happy days for others, and a way to celebrate another year on earth with your family and friends.  This “One Year Older” layout is a great way to showcase those photos celebrating another year blessed.  Throughout the month of March, I will be posting birthday themed projects using our Birthday Time stamp of the month that you can use as inspiration.  As always, the list of supplies used on this layout can be found at the very bottom of this post.

Wherever I go through my paper scraps, I have found that most of it includes our PML (Picture My Life) papers. These pages have been designed for pocket scrapbooking, but they are also great to use as photos mats, on card fronts, and, as I did, to decorate a scrapbook page.

Here are a few ways that I used my leftover Chelsea Gardens PML cards:
• The Diagonal PML was used as the background for the “One Year Older” title. It wasn’t quite long enough, so I cut it in half and used part above and part below the image.
• I included the Grey Dotted PML in the background.  My background was designed using a hodgepodge of paper scraps including some PML cards and zip-strips –  kind of like a crazy quilt.
• Since the Complements are a dark grey, I needed a way to create some matching paper strips for the “It’s Your Birthday” embellishment.  The dark grey on the “True Story” PML matched perfectly.
• I wanted a place to include journaling, so I cut up the “Lined Butterfly” PML to the size I needed, stamped “Date”, and added it to the layout with some Complements.

I added a few more embellishments using the Birthday Time stamp set, along with the Basic Banners, Scallop Border and Oval Thin Cuts. (Don’t forget that these Thin Cuts are on sale this month, while supplies last.)
