Laugh Together Layout

I typically stick with very simple, muted layouts.  This probably stems from the fact that I am a mother of multiple boys, but this week I decided to make a lively scrapbook page for my only daughter.   For the weekly Color My Heart Dare challenge, I  use a variety of bright colors from the Whimsy Fundamentals along with the Live, Laugh, Love stamp set.  This stamp set is available for purchase for only $5.00 with a qualifying purchase from my website.   As always, I’ve included a list of the products I have used to create this layout at the very bottom of this post.

Techniques Used on this Layout:

  • I have a added a layout guide to show paper placement. If you click on the this link, you can see a larger photo with measurements.  All my scrapbook guides that I sell have photos like this to show placement and measurement.
  • The “Flower” images on the bottom left corner were done using the Live, Laugh. Love stamp set. I used Black Memento Ink to stamp the images, then used a Blending Pen with Glacier, Thistle, Canary, and Juniper ink to shade the images.
  • The layered “Flower & Leaf” images were created using the Live, Laugh. Love stamp set. I used Black Memento Ink to stamp the flowers, then used a Blending Pen with Thistle, Canary, and Juniper ink to shade the images. I cut out the flowers and leaves, layered them on top of each other, then adhered them to the layout with Thin 3D Foam Tape.
  • The “Laugh” title was created using the Live, Laugh. Love stamp set. I brushed Purple Watercolor paint onto some Watercolor Paper, then, after it was dry, stamped the “Laugh” image  using Black Memento Ink. I shaded in the flowers with a Silver Metallic Marker, then cut out each individual letter so that I could have the staggered look to my title

  1. Great idea fussy-cutting each of your letters and staggering them…very creative…I may have to scrap-lift this idea. You did a wonderful job on the layout. Thanks for sharing with us at Color Dare this week. Hope you’re enjoying the sneak peeks on the side bar of the blog to know what color combinations are coming up so you can plan ahead.

  2. WOWZA!!! I love this layout and there are so many great things about it, but I’ll just save my comment to a few…I LOVE that you used the B&T Love as sentiments next to your photo, I also LOVE the watercolored letters and that you cut them apart. Such a beautiful layout. Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Color My Heart Color Dare.
