I have always wanted to try “Black Magic”- a technique where you use colored pencils on Black cardstock. This weeks Color My Heart Dare gave me a reason to try it out for the first time. At the very bottom of this post, I’ve included a list of the products I’ve used to create this project.
The technique was simple, yet, it created a fabulous image. I use White Embossing Powder to heat emboss the Rose image, then, using our Bubblegum and Hydrangea Watercolor pencils, I added two layers of color. The background was kept simple to showcase the Rose image. I wanted to repeat the shimmer from the silver twine onto the stamped image, so I used our Clear Shimmer Brush Pen to add shimmer on the leaves. It’s a very striking piece of art once finished. I would love to see anything you have created using the “Black Magic” technique.
Paper Needed: 5½” x 4¼” White Card Base, 5½” X 4¼” Cardstock (I used Black), 5¼” x 4″ Cardstock (I used Raspberry), 4½” x 3½” Cardstock (I used White Daisy), 4″ x 3″ Cardstock (I used Pansy), 4″ x 3″ Cardstock for image (I used Black)
